Note to self

When you’re itching with hives from taking a medication with polyethylene glycol in it, make sure the anti-itch cream you’re using doesn’t have propylene glycol in the ingredients….

  1. Yikes! I hope you feel better soon. Hives is nothing to fool around with. The only time I’ve ever taken my husband to the emergency room was when he had a bad case of hives. They had him on a gurney with a benadril drip before I had the car parked.

  2. Yeah, I took a benadryl and went to sleep.

It’s mostly tree pollen allergies that are kicked up, but they all add up – doesn’t take much this time of year to push me over the allergy cliff. When I was pregnant with Jonathan, I had asthma attacks that took me to the emergency room – the hormones plus the allergies were just too much.

But the irony of being allergic to the anti-itch cream, which was benadryl based, but had the additives I was allergic to – boy, did I feel dumb…
