See, this is what really bothers me right now. Why aren’t we talking about this? Why does the administration think deficits don’t matter? Are they trying to bring down the economy, and if so, why? Is it really all about the rich getting it all, picking up all the little bits that are left after this disaster happens? Do they really think the rest of us will just gladly suffer through another recession, or worse, depression?
But, instead of anything passing for intelligent discourse in our media, we get Popevision. We get the Shiavo death watch. We get culture wars to distract us from the things that are really happening, the economic catastrophe that is looming over this country right now. The only real question left at this point is, what will be the final spark that sets off the fuse of this economic blowout.
