  1. Oh, I feel for you. I just read a NYT article about the blackouts in LA.

It makes me grateful that I live in N. Cali, even though I don’t have a/c! Have an ice cold soda/lemonade/beer/something liquid for me. 🙂

  2. Hey, Kathryn, at least I’m not pregnant! ;^)

It was 100 degrees in November here before Jonathan was born November 27th 1985, and then when I was pregnant with Gregory, in 1989 it was 100 degrees in March, and I didn’t have him until mid August!

Those were hot years for me.

We do have air, but it’s been on continuously all day. Hence the $500 electric bill we’ll get if it stays this hot this month.

We went out to lunch and to the bookstore for a bit, so that helped. And now I have the new Pema Chodron book to quote from here, so that will be good. And the new Kim Stanley Robinson Sixty Days and Counting. So I’m a pretty happy camper!

And the puppies were happy because they stayed in the house while we were gone, and got treats for not destroying anything.

  3. Holy howling hotness!

We dodged the very worst of this (It’s stayed in the mid-to-high 90s at least, and we’re supposed to get a huge break Wednesday.), but I *am* pregnant, and I’m tired of not leaving the house because the heat makes me want to whoops my cookies.

Something is very wrong in the universe when I’m looking forward to moving to North Carolina to get out of the heat! *laugh*
