Time to Go, Gonzo

What does it say about our country when the Attorney General can’t be trusted to follow the law? When the President exempts himself from our laws?

The firing of the state attorneys was designed to subvert our elections to favor the Republican party, by encouraging “voter fraud” investigations to be selectively conducted against the Democratic party. Only attorneys who refused to follow up on these wild goose chases were fired, or those who had investigated and prosecuted Republican officials, such as Carol Lam with the Cunningham case. Lam’s firing was designed to interfere with the investigation of other Republican lawmakers.

Why should the American people be expected to follow our laws if our leaders won’t? Do they even realize the example they set?

We’re a nation of laws, not men who can exempt themselves from those laws. It’s time to talk impeachment.

Impeach Gonzales

We, The Undersigned, urge the House Judiciary Committee to begin the process of impeachment of US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, in accordance with Article II, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution, which
provides for removal of the President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States. We believe the process will prove that Atty. General Gonzales has committed High Crimes and Misdemeanors, including the abuse of power and violation of the public trust, both impeachable offenses.

  1. I meant to add that the torture memo should have caused enough of an outrage to keep him from this position in the first place, don’t you think????

  2. Yes, the torture memo certainly made it a no-brainer. BUt then, I’ve been ranting against Bush and the rest of ’em from before the Supremes appointed Bush. And I agree they don’t care, Maya’s granny. I just think they ought to consider the precedent they are setting – they may not like seeing it used against them later on.
