I have new jeans that were just delivered! They are perfect! They fit (and are size 12s!)! They are triple stitched on the inside and outside seams!

Finding joy in really well made things -especially common and utilitarian things – strikes me as a sign of keen observational abilities. It reflects a kind of wisdom, and an ability to recognize wisdom in others. It is consistent with a character of studying problems carefully and solving them well. And I agree with your implied sentiment that too frequently our society fails to do things this way. Let’s hope this presages well for other products of American mind and character.
I often wish for a good recession to bring us back to making things of quality. ;^)
But mostly I just try to support those who do care about the quality of their products.
