Republicans suck at judging character

Geez. In their friends, in their representatives, in each other. It amazes me how badly Republicans judge character. Whenever something goes wrong, it’s “Who could have known”, “We never imagined people would fly planes into buildings”, “Gee, we never saw anything wrong with a congressman wanting to take a page to a private dinner”, “What, Iraqis didn’t greet us with flowers and candy?”, “Who could have imagined”….

I am absolutely sick of it. If they’re really this astoundingly bad at foreseeing what people are like and what they might do, if their open wallets and lust for power blind them that badly to what people are like and capable of, if they are so surprised by a consensual affair that they have to impeach someone, but don’t see anything wrong with their leadership not keeping sexual predators away from kids, not to mention not having a problem with a President lying an entire country into a useless, costly, and military-wrecking war, then WHY DON’T THEY GET THE HELL OUT OF OFFICE?

Talking Points Memo: by Joshua Micah Marshall: October 01, 2006 – October 07, 2006 Archives

“Congressman Foley duped a lot of people. He lied to Mr. Shimkus and he deceived his instate newspaper when they each questioned him. He deceived the good men and women in organizations around this country, with whom he worked to strengthen our child predator laws. I have known him for all the years he served in this House. He deceived me, too.”
